1. Who we are
Alpha Consultant ("we", "us") is a cross-border business and digital advisory practice operating between Cambodia and New Zealand. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its thirteen Information Privacy Principles.
2. What information we collect
We collect personal information that you provide when you:
- Submit a contact or enquiry form (name, email, phone, language preference, message, and the service you are interested in);
- Engage us for work (engagement letter, identity documents, financial records, business records, immigration-related documents);
- Email or call us directly.
We also collect limited technical information when you visit the site (server logs, IP address, browser type, pages visited). This is used to keep the site secure and to understand site usage in aggregate.
3. Why we collect it
We collect your personal information to:
- Respond to your enquiry;
- Deliver the services you have engaged us for;
- Coordinate work with licensed partners (with your consent);
- Meet our legal, regulatory, and tax obligations;
- Improve our services.
4. How we store and protect it
Your information is stored on secure systems, with access restricted to Alpha personnel and named partners working on your engagement. We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and as required by law (typically seven years for financial records).
5. Who we share it with
We share your personal information with:
- Named partners identified in your engagement letter (e.g. tax agent, Licensed Immigration Adviser, certified translator, VCAT). You consent to this sharing by signing the engagement letter;
- Service providers we use to run our practice (e.g. accounting software, email, document storage, payment processors). These providers process your information only as needed to deliver their service to us;
- Government agencies where required by law (e.g. Inland Revenue, Immigration New Zealand, Companies Office).
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cross-border transfers
Some of our partners (notably VCAT in Cambodia) are based outside New Zealand. Where personal information is shared with a partner outside New Zealand, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected to a comparable standard, in line with Information Privacy Principle 12.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- Withdraw consent for non-essential processing;
- Complain to us, or to the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner, if you believe we have mishandled your information.

8. Cookies and analytics
This site uses only essential cookies and basic analytics for understanding site usage in aggregate. No marketing or cross-site tracking cookies are used. Analytics events do not include personal identifiers.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect any change.
